I BBQed for my grandparents again this Sunday. It started raining just after I lit the...BBQ thing. And then it started pouring. And the patio started leaking. In the end, I had to protect the backribs with my arms. XDD Yay for BBQing outside in the rain at night~!

I had awesome hair today. I dunno why. But I have totally emo-ing bangs now, and when I drag them into my eyes, I look like emo person. I had really awesome hair today which is completely rare, though I never change my hair care routine (which is shampoo and conditioner and that's it). It was a smooth and silky and...*sighs* I wish I had more days like that. ;D

If I kinda freaked you out with my hair-love, sorry 'bout that.

Happier note (and less scary)-- I downloaded all of Coldplay's albums~! WoOt!

My dad is outside right now, watering the grass. o_O It's 11:42 at night right now. My family is strange...

On another note, stupid online class is giving a hard time. I have to either download a new browser or download an older version of firefox in order to use it. ARGH! Why haven't they certified the more recent versions of net browsers?! WHY?!

Pizza dough nightmare

Ladies and gentlemen, I speak truth and the absolute truth. Pizza dough is a nightmare to roll. >o< It's so elastic-y and kept shrinking back into its original shape after I rolled it out...grr...Never going to do that again. Note: Boboli is your friend. XD

While I was making the pizza though, my grandpa was watching my every move like a hawk. --_-- I suppose he was hungry and all...but it was still kinda disturbing. Grandpa likes his sweets and junk food just a bit too much, me thinks.

Today is Tuesday, and my aunt tells me that ever since he found out about the 99 cents deal at Popeye's, he insists on going there every week...and it's been like six weeks now, I think it was...So bad for him...

My aunt took me to the Prolific Oven a couple days back--took home a slice of their strawberry shortcake, a slice of chocolate orange cake, and a small mango mousse. The chocolate orange cake was okay, more of my aunt's taste than mine, the strawberry shortcake was simple delicious (mmm...whip cream...), and the mango mousse...*wipes away drool* It was thick and creamy and...*sighs* Pretty darn good.

(points and laughs at [info]animeartistjo)

P.S. Stayed up 'til like 4 in the morning watching the Cantonese version of Lavender. Ambrose Hsu is friggin' HAWT.

I'm staying over at my grandma's for the week, and yesterday, my grandpa insisted he wanted fried chicken. So my aunt and I went out and bought some, and they ate it for dinner last night.

My grandma ate a piece this afternoon for lunch (with chopsticks! XD) and a while later, she puked all over the carpet. I was sitting across from her tv-zoning, and when I saw the puke...wow.

My aunt ran out of her room, thrusting quickly a "puke-bowl" to her to puke in and grabbing napkins and such. She filled the bowl and got another one, but I had to throw away the puke into the toilet...I don't know how my aunt handles it. I'm still feeling my bile come up when I think of the puke. *shudders*

My aunt is awesome.

Mission Impossible: Getting a bowl of rice

So, today mom and dad dragged me out of my room to have dinner in Oakland with one of mom's LA friends that had come up for work. We went to the Chinatown in Oakland, and into this one restaurant called Restaurant Peony which claims it serves authentic Hong Kong cuisine. Though it doesn't matter to me since I've never been to Hong Kong (darn it).

So we go in there, sit down, look at menus, blah-dy blah. I was bored out of my mind since I always leave the deciding to my mom (plus, I can't really read Chinese) and was nibbling on the free dish of peanuts that they give out while we wait.

Ordering was a pain since the stupid waiter/waitress there kept pushing us to order faster. Get this, there was TWO that pushed us. The first one was a waitress with wa~y too much lipstick, and she wasn't very cooperative because mom and Uncle K (mom's friend) wanted one of their specialties that they offered, but they were out. Mom asked if they had any substitutes offered but the woman just kept shaking her head. Whatever. She left to let us peruse the menu some more.

Not long after, a waiter comes by and picks up the tab and a menu, waiting to take our order. Mom asked again about the specialty, but the man said nope and instead kept babbling off a long list of expensive dishes at us. His voice was high pitched (for a guy) and it was loud. And he kept going on and on and on. I imagined in my head: he's babbling (which he was), then KARATE~ chop to his head to shut him up. Can you tell I've been reading way too much manga? Anyways, we managed to shoo him away for a bit, and then we finally ordered.

Soup came first, then two dishes.

No rice.

Mom asked a passing waitress for the rice. They nod and move away.

Minutes later: no rice.

Mom asked a passing waiter for  the rice. They nod and move away.

More minutes pass.

So here we were, sitting with food but no rice. Is it really that hard to pick up rice from the kitchen to give to us? I saw the waiter/waitress that we had asked for rice walking around. One was talking to some guests, casually resting his hands on the backs of their chairs, laughing and smiling. The other was clearing a table of guests right in front of us.

We asked another waitress for the rice and she nods and looks like she going to get it right away!

She detours, stops to take the order of a table, clean away some of their dishes, comes out of the kitchen with more dishes and serves the table behind us (who came after us). And she gave them their rice. And ours? Obviously slipped her mind.

I muttered to myself, "Mission Impossible: Getting a bowl of rice."

Am I not right?

The rice finally came (after a unnecessary long wait) and asking one of the waiters AGAIN for the rice. *sighs* Service was terrible. And this place doesn't even have the excuse of being busy! They were only half full and most of the workers were simply walking around doing who knows what. *glares*

I laugh at my aunt

My aunt went out and bought a Wii from Costco. The last one. And she's been playing for about two hours or so...now she calls me and tells me that she has back pain because she's been exercising and using muscles that haven't been used in ages. XD I fell over laughing. I said, "Isn't sad that the most exercise you've done in the past year is playing Wii?"

She told me to shut up. I laughed. XD

On second note, last night I went up with her to San Francisco.

Deep dish pizza is the best. *drools* We had a chicken and spinach deep dish pizza from Little Star Pizza in SF. Delish. We ate in the car while some dude played his electric guitar on the street.

While we were eating, we saw these two tow trucks circling the block around a bunch of cars that were parks ILLEGALLY in a lane beside an island. But there were a LOT of cars. O_o By the time we had finished eating, they had stopped their vulture-like behavior and were beginning to tow. They had been waiting for the city's meter guard (?) to come and write the tickets to make the towing legit. When we started walking to our next food stop, there were five tow trucks and they were doing brisk business.

We had yummy ice cream at BI-Rite's Creamery and Bakeshop. Sooooo~ good... I had a sugar cone with a scoop of cookies and cream and another scoop of roasted banana. My aunt had two scoops of salted caramel. Mmmm...

Then she wanted to try this gelato place and we did...and it was on Mission around scary places. o_o They had good mango gelato though. Very mango-y. :)

Then when we were driving back to grandma's house, I looked out the window and I said, "Hey, what's that? Fire?"

It was three trails of really bright orange on the hill. But when I took a second look, I was like, "Holy mother board! It is fire!"

My aunt turned on the radio and we listened in. It was huge fire on...erm...I forgot the name. By San Francisco! But lucky for us, we got past the mountain before people started rubbernecking.

When we past the mountain and I looked backward, my eyes nearly fell out of my head. There was like, four waves of fire going on the other side. o_O The firefighters are going to have their hands full. I hope today's fog helped a bit...

When we got home, my aunt and I (note: both relatively short people) had to put up new blinds on a window. -_- And we watched that really weird drama with Tamaki Hiroshi in it where he talks to deer and occasionally sees himself with a deer head. Very disturbing, I tell you. But Tamaki is as hot as always~. :)
